At Sprouts Greenhouse we began a dream of being “Where Green Ideas Start” 3 years ago, and as we head into our 4th spring of business, we find ourselves expanding to accommodate our “Growing” clientele. (Pun intended.)
Located in a very rural demographic, west of the Village of Pigeon Lake, near Winfield, AB, we have grown from a very small business supported by a very local clientele, to one that is now encompassing a much wider radius of attention. After working several seasons with the neighboring village of Breton to beautify their town, and last season with the Village of Pigeon Lake, we are very pleased to have the opportunity this year, to also work with the City of Wetaskiwin and their Communities in Bloom project. With our motto of “Greening your Community One Step at a Time,” this is very exciting for us to be involved with a project of this size and to be a part of “Greening” yet another community.
“Blossoms for the cure” is another project we are proud to be involved with at Sprouts Greenhouse, and our customers participate every time they purchase a product with the “Blossoms for the Cure” tag on it. $1 from their purchases through the entire season is donated to support cancer research, prevention & treatment right here in our own province.
Besides offering our customers a wide range of Annual bedding plants, Perennials, Ornamental Trees & Shrubs as well as Fruit Trees, vegetable bedding plants, Edible Gardens in a pot, Heirloom tomatoes, Hanging baskets, Container Gardens, Organic fertilizers, & Eco Lawn, we offer our visitors lots of free gardening & landscape advice too.
We have done many Garden Talks, Workshops & Seminars to help eager and aspiring gardeners become more knowledgeable and more successful at growing things, and doing it in a more environmentally friendly way. Educating our clientele was also the inspiration behind “Garden Chat” which is a weekly garden column published in the Breton Booster, and has become and excellent forum for sharing our “Green Ideas.”
The creation of our website last year HYPERLINK "http://www.sproutsgreenhouse.com" www.sproutsgreenhouse.com has proved to be an excellent decision, and our thanks go out to Haup2it Web Design for convincing us to take the plunge. I would like to invite all of you readers out there to visit the website to see some beautiful photos of what we do, read our blogs for some gardening advice, and subscribe to our brand new E-Newsletter for weekly updates on what’s new, what’s coming down the pipeline and lots of “Green Ideas.”
We look forward to seeing you May 1st, as we open our doors for the season at the new greenhouse, and also invite you for a taste of spring Mother’s Day weekend for Lavender Cake & tea!
