K2 Landscaping

K2 Landscaping was formed in 2008 when after almost 30 years, Fred Kuerbis, decided to make the leap from oilfield operator to business owner. He chose the landscaping/carpentry field because these were areas of interest and satisfaction for him and where others had already seen his talent.

While K2 Landscaping is obviously a landscaping business, Fred has done many different kinds of work within that business, from building log benches to putting in fire pits and retaining walls and trying to do whatever the home owner needs to have done to beautify their home and yard and make it a place where they enjoy spending time.

The arm of the business which has really taken off is in the area of deck building, but, while Fred enjoys this, he has recently added a curbing machine to the line up; which already includes a skid steer service. Fred is hoping that this curbing machine will be the new focus for the business.

The challenge for a seasonal business is to find work in the winter months and this is the challenge that he and his wife/business partner, Carolyn, are trying to address.

Fred and his family are presently enjoying life on a farm just outside of Breton. All in all, he is very happy that he made the wonderful, albeit scary, leap into the business world a few years ago and looks forward to whatever the future has in store for his family and his business.
